The GTM Engineer bridge.

Lorikeet closed $35M Series A in August 2025. At a 70-person AI CX company scaling into fintech and healthtech, the GTM ops layer (CRM routing, data enrichment, outbound sequencing) tends to land in the Head of Operations seat before dedicated GTM Engineering is in place. I run that function in parallel so the build happens on a portable foundation, not in a Zapier graveyard.

6 weeks $15,000 fixed For Head of Operations, GTM systems land in your seat by default.

Without a GTME function, every GTM ask flows to Ops by default.

When the GTM Engineer seat is open, the work does not pause. It lands somewhere. Marketing needs a webhook. Sales needs a CRM routing rule. RevOps needs an enrichment workflow that does not break on healthtech edge cases. The cumulative cost is your team context-switching off the operations work that actually scales the company. The fix is a separately-owned GTM systems layer, built portable with Docker + env vars + state adapters so your incoming GTME hire takes it over via git clone, not rewrite.

Three things only an internal builder can fix.

Every GTM ask compounds in the Ops queue

Without a dedicated GTME function, routing, enrichment, and sequencing work flows to whoever can ship it. That is usually you. The cost is the strategic ops work that gets pushed.

Fintech and healthtech routing have to be encoded

These 2 verticals have different compliance constraints, different deal complexity, and different buying committees. The CRM has to distinguish them at the lead level or every downstream system patches the difference by hand.

Portable-first or rewrite-later

GTM systems built in Zapier and Make become rewrites when the GTME hire lands. Built in code with env vars and state adapters from day 1, they become handoffs. The 2 paths look the same in week 1 and very different in month 6.

A Dockerized GTM systems layer your incoming GTME hire inherits clean.

  1. Weeks 1 to 2

Map every GTM ask currently landing in Ops

Inventory the routing, enrichment, and sequencing work absorbed by your team this quarter. Identify which workflows are temporary patches and which need to live in a real GTM systems service.

  2. Weeks 3 to 4

Ship the CRM routing + Clay enrichment + outbound layer

Vertical-aware routing for fintech vs. healthtech. Clay-based enrichment pipeline for ops and CX buyer personas. Outbound sequence engine your GTME hire extends on day 1. Built portable so handoff is a git clone.

Salesforce in plain English, shipped in 4 weeks.

AssetWatch leadership wanted natural-language access to pipeline, accounts, demo outcomes, and work orders without filing a RevOps ticket for every question. I shipped a custom GPT in ChatGPT Enterprise that translates English to SOQL and queries production Salesforce live. Two Knowledge files made it work: an auto-generated schema catalog covering 26 objects and 3,800+ fields, plus a hand-curated semantic layer encoding AssetWatch tribal knowledge, so "who owns this deal" returns the Solution Architect and "deal size" returns ARR, not the raw admin fields. Read-only, leadership-facing, 4 weeks. Tyler's team owns the maintenance now.

Same play I would run for Lorikeet. Different stack, same fixed-fee discipline.

$15,000, fixed. 6 weeks. One invoice.

  • Signal architecture
  • Account list and buying-committee map
  • Sequence build, live send, and deliverability infrastructure

Documentation and handoff included, not billed. If volume justifies it after the bridge, $25,000 / 90-day retainer extends the system. Your call, not mine.
